It's Friday, the most exciting day of the week....Laundry day!

Ok, I know all of you can relate to putting stuff off. Like washing the dog, paying bills, but I truly believe that laundry is probably the most neglected. I am come on, we all know atleast one man or two that doesn't bother to wash the clothes for atleast a week or two. Instead just reaches into the laundry hamper for the least stinkest clothing but the most wrinkled and heads out for the day.

I think it is probably a genetic defect, or nasal defect. Because believe me we know they smell, don't we ladies! I mean somedays I just open the washer and lift the hamper lid, saying walk on in guys, since they have sprouted legs. Of course their are days when you have to beat the darn clothes into the washer because they refuse to go down with out a fight.

But I digress, there are days I would like to whack the wear of these clothes up side the head cause obviously something is extremely wrong upstairs.

I AM SO NOT CLEANING THAT UP!

My sweet nephew is sick today. It turns out that he made it just in time for breakfast at school to turn around and barely make it to the nurses office, where I am sorry to share....he errupted like mount st. helens on a clear day.

And where was I, you ask. Still asleep. It seems that he was picked up by my dad and brought home. All I have to say is Thank God, I didn't have to clean that up. I would have had to see the nurse myself.

So explain to me after a child has upchucked, he thinks he can keep anything and everything down? I mean he just missed the porcelan god, for those of you not sure of that...toilet!
I have got that turkey having of all thinks potato chip sandwiches!

I guess the one thing to look forward to is this flu lasts about 2 days. Wish I could say the same for my chest cold!

Hold the sugar and cream this morning!

Good morning! I have discovered that the Halloween hangover, which I had hoped I would miss this year, has finally hit. Thus the name for "Hold the sugar and the cream this morning!" I am sure many of you can relate to that wondrous annoying feeling one gets after way to much sugar, you know its like having a 13shot espresso hold the ice and/or milk! Then comes the ultimate drain, you just feel like a big bloated blob! I call this the triple b effect!

For those of you who can so relate to my first post re: my niece, here is an update. This once charming, sensitive, and polite young lady has over the course of the last year turned into this boy-drooling, Gothic makeup wearing, can't keep up her pants if her life depended on it, fowl mouthed brat! Yep, that sweet little girl who sat for 2hours while I put in pin-curls for her yearly pictures has turned into the "TEENAGER FROM HELL" but I must digress, she can't be entirely blamed. Some of the blame must fall on her parents, on the rest of the family and inevitably society itself.

Like many parents who wish to take their roles as mentors, dorm keepers, and disciplinarians; have traded them for a more forgive the lack of a better term but cool with the program parent. I am sure you have seen them, they are the ones whose main goal is not to raise a child but to build a friendship that fulfills a need missing from their lives. Now I can't say for many of you out there but that type of relationship didn't occur with my mother and father til I was almost 30. Why so long? I am not sure, it could have been several factors. Yet for the most part I think it had to do with the fact that I had gotten to a point where I looked at them and saw them for what they were. Two people who didn't have quite all the answers they had hoped for but did the very best they could and winged the rest as it came. In other words, that they were human. I feel that my niece will never be able to come to that conclusion because the two people who should be taking a more parental role instead have chosen to be friends with their kids.

As for the rest of the family, maybe we didn't push hard enough for the parents to seek parenting classes, counseling or maybe we gave up the fight because the ending was inevitable. Isn't that how most things are dropped, because no matter how hard you try or work to get a decent result/outcome, it just won't happen.

And as for society, if you have to even question why I lay blame there then the odds are very high that you don't have children or for that matter nieces and nephews. For years, society has deemed what is considered acceptable and what's not. They have decided what is too fat and too thin, too old and too young. Which trends are in and which are not. We have allowed this to go on for so long that what little control of influence we have on the young can't compete with the constant down pour of society's demands. But to my amazement I must tip my hat to Dove, for the commercials to promote self confidence in young girls. I just wish it had begun this campaign years ago.

Well as you can see, straight coffee has a tendency to make me go on and on and on, just like that annoying bunny!

Spill The Beans!

Hi Everyone, and welcome to my first ever blog. I created it in hopes of both sharing my experiences and receiving feedback that may help or may not. So if you have not figured it out, I am a coffee-addict! It doesn't matter whether it is a reg. cup of black sludge or the very delicious Starbucks carmel macchiattos! I love it! Combine that with a good book or a movie and I am in java heaven.

So heres my delima, she's my 14 almost 15 year old neice, who believes she is going on 25. I know you are probably thinking this is nothing new, and you would be correct in thinking that. But the new part is she is not the!! average size 14 year old. Too be precise she is close to 300 lbs. I have always believed that beauty comes from the inside out but apart of me knows that in this day and age, well it just doesn't fly. I've done as much as I can along with my family to encourage her to lose weight without making it seem like she had to. But now that she is dating, I am concerned that she may be relying on other things to maintain a relationship...yep sex! Somebody knock me out till this child graduates from college!!
